Quattrofest has been a fixture at PIR for over 15 years with two miles of fresh asphalt for everyone to enjoy. Easy to learn but challenging to perfect, with a 41-year history, PIR has hosted many huge events including CART, IMSA, Trans Am, ALMS, NASCAR, and many other national racing series. Tailor made for driving schools, the facility has enough room to simultaneously run lapping sessions and skills exercises. This will also allow Quattrofest to have a first for a national event, an autocross. Come a couple of days early and experience the great Northwest in its entirety with two terrific tours to show everyone what the Northwest does best.

Thursday’s Tour will head east up the Columbia River Valley where participants will be treated to spectacular waterfalls and mountain views on the way to the Maryhill Museum of Art (www.maryhillmuseum.org) on the mighty Columbia River. The Maryhill Museum of Art is the world’s largest art museum situated on a 6000 acre parcel of land. Starting with the unusual art of a full size replica of Stonehenge and finishing with the Maryhill Loops Road (www.maryhillmuseum.org/loops.html), it boasts some of the most interesting and unusual art on the planet.

In the museum building the temporary exhibit at that time will be Comics at the Crossroads: Art of the Graphic Novel. The permanent exhibits include Auguste Rodin (sculpture), Native American art and culture, Samuel Hill, Marie Queen of Romania, European paintings (mostly British, Dutch and French), Loie Fuller (modern dance), chess sets and much more.  You will get to drive the famous Maryhill Loops Road that has been seen on countless commercial advertisements and photographs. The Maryhill area is also one of the largest wind production areas in the United States, and some of the huge wind generators may be viewed on the museum property.

Friday’s Tour will start south down the Willamette Valley at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum (www.sprucegoose.org). This museum houses an eclectic group of aircraft including the world famous Spruce Goose, permanently displayed at the museum. The group will then split with a choice of two options. One group will head north and have visiting several wineries in the Willamette Valley, recognized as one of the premier Pinot Noir producing areas in the world. The other group will head west to the Oregon coast and take in the spectacular coastline with world famous views and great driving roads.

On Saturday, members will participate in our terrific Drivers Education program for novice drivers and lapping for advanced drivers. Drivers Education students may then take part in the afternoon autocross or lapping on the road course.

A terrific dinner banquet is planned for Saturday night at the Red Lion Hotel on the Columbia River, including good company, great food, and an entertaining evening.

The event continues on Sunday at the track with more lapping or autocross. Please go to www.audiclubnw.org for details and register for the event.
